CQT has a complete offering of handgun training from basic to advanced techniques for all levels of shooters. Our courses take advantage of our cutting-edge facility from the classroom to the shoot house.
Eye and ear protection are available if needed. Ammo is also available for purchase in the pro shop. Steel-cased, steel-cored, 5.56/.223 SS 109 and M855 (green tip) ammo is prohibited at the range. Appropriate attire for all classes. NO low-cut shirts or open-toed shoes. Baseball cap recommended.
This eight hour course meets and exceeds the State of Michigan Requirements to obtain a license or permit. The class will cover: Firearms and the law, firearm safety, ammunition and firearm components, home defense and personal protection information, shooting stances, marksmanship fundamentals, basic holster techniques and choosing a firearm that's "right for you." You will spend time in both the classroom and on the range, completing a 150-round course of fire.
Required: Notepad and pen for note-taking, personal firearm (rentals available), eye and ear protection, minimum 150 rounds of ammunition (must be purchased in store, if renting).
Our four hour "refresher" course meets State of Michigan requirements for all license or permit renewals. You will learn tactics for concealed carry and updates to change in carry laws. You will spend time in the classroom and on the range, completing a 50-round course of fire.

In this four hour course you will learn to safely unload, load, fire and inspect your pistol. You will also be exposed to different types of holsters, carry and concealment methods and additional materials and equipment that will make your shooting more enjoyable and safe.
Required: Personal firearm (rentals available), eye and ear protection, two magazines, 150 rounds of ammunition (must be purchased in store, if renting).
Over this eight hour course, you will learn how to draw and fire your handgun, conduct "emergency" and "tactical" reloads, as well as how to clear various types of weapon malfunctions.

In this eight hour course, students will build the skill set acquired from Handgun I. You will learn how to use ballistic protection in addition to exposure to techniques necessary for accurate shooting while moving.

handgun - dry fire refresher
The key to being a successful and great shooter is repetition. At home, it may be hard to spot check yourself and know if the technique is being performed correctly. This course is designed to refresh student’s fundamentals through dry practice and instructor corrections. During this two hour class, students will dry practice the techniques learned in Handgun 1 or Handgun 2 as to ensure proper form and technique are being applied. **Note: This is a Dry Fire Refresher only. Students will receive 50% off range time, if used immediately following class.
Required: Successful completion of Handgun 1 or Handgun 2 (must show proof to attend), pistol, two magazines, holster, one magazine pouch, minimum of 2 snap caps.
Skills and Drills - handgun
An advanced, high round-count, course designed to expose the shooter to drills that can enhance skill set and ability to quickly, accurately and tactically employ your defensive handgun. This course applies and enhances skills learned in both Handgun I and II.
Required: Successful Completion of Handgun 1 & 2, personal handgun, holster, magazine pouch/holster, minimum of five snap caps, eye and ear protection, minimum of 375 rounds of ammunition, knee pads (optional).
Force On Force
This eight hour course has been designed to prepare you for realistic problem solving in a deadly force encounter. You will be utilizing Simunition training equipment to experience hostage and carjacking scenarios, and other real life scenarios. Students are recommended to wear heavy clothing they do not mind getting dirty. All other gear and equipment will be provided.
Recommended: Successful completion of Handgun 1 and Handgun 2.
force on force - Level 2
This three hour course will be a follow up to any individuals that have completed Force on Force training and are looking to further their skills and abilities. During this class student will run through a number of scenarios that sharpen their ability to respond to real like situations in which stress and fear are factors. Students are recommended to wear heavy clothing that they don’t mind gets dirty. All protective gear will be provided.

Advanced Pistol/Rifle Operator
A physically and mentally demanding advanced pistol and rifle course designed to get you thinking and making decisions while in high-stress situations and environments. Please be well aware of the physical and mental demands for this class. All areas of our facility will be utilized including range, VirTra V-300 Simulator, combatives area and shoot house.
Required: Successful completion of Handgun I & II, Carbine I & II, personal pistol and rifle, holster, sling, magazine pouch/holsters, eye and ear protection, minimum of 250 rounds of ammunition PER WEAPON, kits (plate carriers, chest rigs, helmets, etc.).
