Service Description
CQB 1 is an eight-hour fundamentals course designed to introduce students to safe and structured close quarters battle (CQB) concepts inside a controlled shoot house environment. This course focuses on the foundational skills required to move, assess, and operate safely in confined interior spaces. Students will learn how to enter rooms, clear corners, move through doorways, and process unknown environments using repeatable, principle-based techniques. Training blends dry fire and simunition-on-target work to reinforce safe weapon handling, trigger discipline, and responsible decision-making. Emphasis is placed on positive threat identification, communication, and maintaining proper fields of fire while working individually and in small teams. Students will develop safe indoor movement patterns, understand angles and exposure management, and learn how to prioritize threats effectively. Both verbal and non-verbal communication methods are integrated to enhance coordination during two- and four-student house runs. Instruction also incorporates high-light and low-light considerations, shot placement concepts specific to CQB distances, weapon malfunctions, and platform transitions when applicable. This course is structured to build a strong CQB foundation before progressing to more advanced or scenario-driven training. Safety, accountability, and disciplined movement remain the priority throughout the day. Prerequisite: Completion of Handgun 1 or equivalent qualifying handgun course Skills Covered: Weapon ready positions and trigger discipline Safe indoor movement with a handgun Room entry, penetration, and scanning Field of fire and priority of threats Verbal communication and CQB verbiage Positive identification and threat recognition Use of cover, distance, and angles Multi-room flow techniques High-light and low-light considerations Non-verbal communication through body language Two- and four-student house runs Shot placement and CQB holds Weapon malfunctions and transitions Required Gear: Handgun and/or rifle (rentals available) Holster and/or sling Eye protection Build the skills to move deliberately, identify responsibly, and operate safely inside confined spaces.
