Upcoming Sessions
Service Description
The 2-Day Team Leader Development Course prepares tactical operators to lead small teams during close-quarters operations. Over two days, students gain practical leadership, communication, and decision-making skills needed for dynamic, high-risk environments. The course emphasizes team leader roles and responsibilities, including organizing teams, maintaining accountability, and managing movement and engagement. Students practice communications checks, head counts, and clear command structure to keep teams coordinated and safe. Clear, concise verbal communication is key. Officers learn effective callouts and command language to guide teams while minimizing confusion. Training covers movement flow, direction of travel, deconfliction, and general intent, ensuring teams move efficiently and safely through structures and tactical scenarios. Students learn the “2 Away Back All-Day” methodology and “Heads Up Shooter” concept, addressing situations where operators may need to act independently when the team leader cannot control every movement. Training progresses from dry iterations to live-fire shoot house exercises, allowing students to apply leadership skills under realistic conditions. Instructors rotate students through the team leader role, supervising their decisions, communication, and coordination. Additional instruction covers medical reporting (MIST), down-agent protocols, and immediate action drills (IADs) for worst-case scenarios. Students also practice decision-making for situations requiring continuation of the mission or breaking contact. The course concludes with Final Mission Problems (FMPs) where students lead teams through complex CQB scenarios using simunition and role players. These exercises test leadership, communication, and tactical decision-making under pressure. Graduates leave with the knowledge and confidence to lead teams, manage complex CQB operations, and make critical decisions in high-stress environments.
