Private firearm lessons at Close Quarters Tactical are designed for shooters who want focused, one-on-one instruction tailored to their experience level, goals, and learning pace. Whether you are brand new to firearms, refining fundamentals, advancing defensive skills, or training in a shoothouse environment, private lessons allow our instructors to meet you exactly where you are.

Private lessons are available for individuals, couples, and small groups, and are also an excellent option for youth firearm safety training in a controlled, professional setting.

We welcome shooters from across the state of Michigan, including Southeast Michigan, Macomb County, Metro Detroit, and beyond.

Basic Firearm Private Lesson

1 Hour $75 | 2 Hours $150

Ideal for new shooters or anyone looking to reinforce safe handling and core fundamentals.

May include:

  • Firearm safety rules and safe handling

  • Basic operation of your firearm

  • Fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Classroom or range booth instruction

  • Equipment familiarization

Intermediate / Advanced Firearm Private Lesson

1 Hour $200 | 2 Hours $400   May require an after-hours charge

Designed for experienced shooters looking to expand defensive and technical skills.

May include:

  • Emergency and tactical reloads

  • Clearing malfunctions

  • Drawing from a holster

  • Shooting from cover

  • Movement and positional shooting

Shoot House Private Training

1 Hour $200 | 2 Hours $400   Simunition - $45 additional

Scenario-based training inside our dedicated shoothouse facility.

May include:

  • Dry fundamentals and movement

  • Force-on-target drills

  • Force-on-force scenarios

  • Live fire (with instructor approval)

Self-Defense & Combatives Private Training

$100 per Hour

Hands-on self-defense instruction conducted in our mat room.

May include:

  • Combatives and self-defense techniques

  • Use of impact tools, edged weapons, and improvised defense

  • Situational awareness and decision-making

Youth Firearm Safety Training

2.5 Hours $100

A structured, age-appropriate introduction to safe firearm handling.

Will include:

  • Firearm safety fundamentals

  • Loading and unloading procedures

  • Malfunctions and problem-solving

  • Types of firearms and ammunition

  • Hands-on instruction with handguns and rifles

Focused CQB and home-defense training tailored to your experience level and prior instruction.

Can include (but not limited to):

  • Safety and weapon handling

  • Movement through rooms

  • Corners and doorway techniques

  • Entry and “pieing”

  • Threat identification

  • Engagement techniques

  • Firing on the move

  • Dry fire with minimal live fire (instructor approval)
