How the FFL Transfer Process Works at CQT
Please do not submit the transfer form until your purchase is finalized or the auction is won.
-
Purchase your firearm from an online dealer, auction site, or private seller
-
Finalize payment directly with the seller
-
Provide the seller with our FFL contact information:
sales@cqtusa.com -
We send a copy of our FFL to the seller upon request
-
The seller ships the firearm to Close Quarters Tactical, LLC
-
Once received and logged, we contact you when the firearm is ready for pickup
-
Visit the Pro Shop to complete required background checks and state/federal paperwork
Please note: A tracking number showing “delivered” does not mean the firearm is ready for pickup. All firearms must be logged and processed before release.
Standard firearm transfer fee: $65
NFA transfer fee: $75
All fees are due at the time of transfer completion.
Age Requirements & Important Policies
-
You must be 21 years of age to transfer or purchase a stripped or completed lower receiver
-
If a lower receiver is transferred to CQT for an individual under 21, a $25 administrative fee will apply
-
All transfers must comply with current state and federal regulations
What Is an FFL Transfer?
An FFL (Federal Firearms License) transfer is required when a firearm is purchased from a seller who cannot legally ship it directly to an individual. The firearm must be shipped to a licensed dealer, like Close Quarters Tactical, where the legal transfer is completed.
FFL transfers ensure:
-
Compliance with federal and Michigan firearm laws
-
Proper background checks and documentation
-
Responsible and lawful firearm ownership
