Service Description
Handgun 2 is an eight-hour progression course focused on movement, positional shooting, and effective use of cover. Designed for students who have successfully completed Handgun 1, this class builds on established fundamentals and introduces more dynamic defensive applications. In real-world environments, you are rarely standing still. Handgun 2 prepares you to maintain accuracy, control, and situational awareness while moving and working around obstacles. Students will learn how to shoot accurately while moving forward, laterally, and diagonally, emphasizing balance, recoil control, and efficient footwork. We also cover turns and target transitions to help students maintain awareness and mechanical consistency when engaging from different angles. Instruction includes kneeling and other positional shooting techniques that improve stability and adaptability in varied scenarios. Students will work with ballistic protection concepts, learning how to properly utilize cover while minimizing exposure. Dominant- and support-hand shooting are incorporated to ensure students can maintain performance even when conditions are less than ideal. Snap caps are used to reinforce malfunction identification and manipulation under more complex drills. All exercises are conducted under professional supervision with a strong emphasis on safety, discipline, and efficient gun handling. Handgun 2 is ideal for students ready to move beyond static shooting and develop practical skills that require coordination, awareness, and control. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Handgun 1 Skills Covered: Forward, lateral, and diagonal movement Turns and target transitions Kneeling and positional shooting Use of ballistic protection and cover Dominant- and support-hand shooting Required Gear: Personal or rental firearm Holster 3 magazines Magazine pouch 5 snap caps / dummy rounds 250 rounds of ammunition Eye and ear protection If you have questions about gear setup or readiness for this course, our team can help you determine if you’re prepared to advance.
