Upcoming Sessions
Service Description
Patrol Officer Level 1 is designed to give patrol officers practical, reality-based training for situations they are most likely to face in the field. Patrol officers are often the first on scene and may be required to make critical decisions before backup or specialized units arrive. This course focuses on providing the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively handle building searches and higher-risk vehicle approaches. The course emphasizes Single Officer Tactics, recognizing that patrol officers frequently operate alone during the initial stages of a call. Students will learn how to approach, assess, and manage structures and vehicles while maintaining situational awareness and proper weapon handling. Instruction covers the fundamentals of Close Quarters Battle (CQB) as they apply to patrol operations. Officers will explore practical concepts for building entry considerations, clearing techniques appropriate for solo officers, and vehicle approach procedures commonly encountered during patrol work. Safety and discipline are a core component of this training. Officers will reinforce muzzle awareness, movement discipline, and threat management while working through practical exercises. The course also focuses on recognizing threat and non-threat indicators, helping officers make better decisions in fast-moving and uncertain environments. Students will also examine how a pistol can be used as a subject control tool, allowing officers to maintain control of encounters while balancing officer safety and proper use of force considerations. By the end of the course, officers will leave with stronger confidence in their ability to approach structures, conduct building searches, and manage vehicle encounters while operating alone or prior to additional support arriving. Topics Covered • Single Officer Tactics • Safety considerations • Fundamentals of CQB • Muzzle awareness • Building search fundamentals • Higher-risk vehicle approach • Utilizing a pistol as a subject control tool • Threat / non-threat identifiers
