Two-officer patrol rifle tactics for coordinated movement, communication, and team response.
Upcoming Sessions
Service Description
Patrol Officer Level 2 builds on foundational patrol tactics by introducing coordinated two-officer movement and communication using the patrol rifle. While officers often respond individually at first, many calls quickly evolve into situations where officers must work together to safely move, search, and control an environment. This course focuses on practical two-man patrol rifle tactics, giving officers the skills needed to operate as a coordinated team while maintaining safety, communication, and accountability. Students will learn how to move effectively with a partner, manage angles of responsibility, and maintain proper spacing while navigating structures and other environments commonly encountered during patrol operations. Emphasis is placed on maintaining muzzle discipline, situational awareness, and safe movement while working in close proximity to another officer. Officers will also develop a better understanding of how to communicate clearly and efficiently while moving as a team. Clear communication and defined roles are essential when officers are operating with rifles in dynamic environments, particularly during building searches or other higher-risk encounters. The course reinforces critical safety considerations when working with patrol rifles, ensuring officers understand how to operate effectively without compromising officer or partner safety. Through guided instruction and practical application, students will build confidence in their ability to coordinate movement and maintain control while working with another officer. By the end of the course, officers will have a stronger understanding of two-officer patrol rifle movement, communication, and team tactics, allowing them to operate more effectively during real-world calls that require coordinated response. Topics Covered • Patrol rifle 2-man tactics • Safety considerations • Two-officer movement with rifle • Team communication and coordination • Movement discipline and spacing • Muzzle awareness and partner safety • Roles and responsibilities during team movement • Coordinated response fundamentals
